Sleepy on Day 3

So I was too tired to wake up and go to gym this morning. BUT there is a 6pm abdominal class that I will attend. I will. I promise you.

Here are the pictures of what I bought for the wedding thus far:  hehehe!

Breakfast:
chicken 2 pts
cooked beats 0
olive oil 2 pts

Lunch:
Chicken fillet with tomatoe/asparagus salad 8pts

Snack: banana
granola bar 4 pts

So we did it!! I'm proud of myself AND Guillermo. I forced myself out of bed (during a siesta-- what?! I'm marrying a Spaniard-- I must get used to his cultural lifestyle ;)... haha)
Anyways, went to the 1/2 hr ab class. I observed as all the tiny skinny minnies in the class set up their own stations consisting of step with those lifters, two towels, dumbells and a mat. So I followed suit and did the same. The instructor came in and as I watched this hairy chested, man throw towels off his speakers onto the floor, I thought "holy shit- what did i get myself into?!"...
But turns out the class was hard but not too hard. The others did make the planks and side planks look like a breeze, where I was struggling to keep myself up for even a few measily seconds.. but overall i give myself a B.
Then G and I met and we went to exercise in Central Park. I biked slowly next to him and motivated him to keep up running! It was his first time jogging and I have to say how proud I was of him! We pushed each other and that made me so happy. I even got off the bike for a length or two lights and jogged while he motivated me to keep going further than I thought I could. He jogged almost the entire loop of Central Park.  I have to say, the bike riding was less of a workout, but I was ok with that, as I got him out and about and I already did a bit of elypitcal in addition to the ab class.

Came home, made us dinner. Think I'll sleep well tonight.

Dinner:
Salmon fillet (with oil) 10pts
Fresh watermelon 0pts
baked potato 5pts

Total 31pts (not too bad)

Discount Gym! HOORAY!

Doesn't hurt to ask-- so after my latin dance class with Francheska (If latin dance class will guarantee a body like she has, I'm in!), I went to the gym office to inquire about a cheaper option.  After explaining my impending wedding money stress, she was able (SHHH!!!) on the down low get me a better deal. The only restrictions are that I cant attend the gym during M-Thu at 4:30-730. That doesnt matter though. I've gotten in the routine of going in the morning while unemployed.. or if i get a job, I'll be going surely after 7:30pm.

Oh- that reminds me- I dont know what I am thinking, but I signed up for a spin class tomorrow morning at 6:30 (GASP!) AM!!!! WHAT?! I hope i can make it. That will be a big pat on my shoulder if i do. If I dont..... I will still go to a Total Body Conditioning class.  So either way, I'm in for the long haul.

I hope i continue on this path. Especially now that I am paying half, I should show my appreciation and get even MORE for my money by going more often.

On the job update: I might  have a potential freelance job til end of july. I hope i get it, as im stressed about money and bills bills bills.

Wedding update: Emailed the DJ, and contacted another photographer last night that Kelley found for me. No word back from either so far.

G and I decided to walk to Michaels which is on 100th and Columbus Avenue..  a 2.48 mile walk.
I did a lot of investigating on decorations and such for the wedding. I'm really excited!  I bought silk torquoise fans for our guests. Well, I need to buy another package of them, but I think it'd be a nice touch to put on every other seat for our guests. Plus will add color to the seats. I also went ahead and bought the cake topper (girl grabbing groom's tush!) on amazon for $29.  On the main website, it would have been $50 with shipping! YAY for saving moolah.

Breakfast:
peach 0
turkey lunch meat 4

For lunch:
Made filet mignon 5 pts

Snack (was starving) so in Whole Foods bought a cup for Quinoa with beans. It was surprisingly EXACTLY what I was in the mood for and was filling. I love that quinoa is a protein.  5 pts

Dinner:
Roasted red peppers and asparagus 3 (olive oil)
piece of chicken 3pts

Snack:
Grapes, mango 0 pts

Piece of chocolate: 2 pts

Day One: Zumba

Day One: Zumba.

Guillermo left for class and I got out of bed shortly after. I had already decided to go to Zumba at 86th street this morning at 9:30am. Had an egg white and a peach for breakfast.
Walked 10 blocks to the gym (I've never been to this location before) and in the 90 degree weather at 9am, I thought maybe the walk in itself to the gym will be the workout.  But before I knew it, I arrived.

Turns out though that the zumba class room, that was already filled by the time I got there 15 minutes early, had the AC broken! DAMN! I can do this, I thought to myself. I can do this. 326 days left. I can!!! I will!!

Music starts, energy pumping, excited.  That is until mid-way during class when I am drenched (is it the workout? or just the incredible heat?.. I wasn't sure). I felt like I was losing steam quickly, but that thought came back in my head... 326 days. I want to do this.

So I poured some water on my head, dried off my face, and got back in the dancing lines of flailing arms and legs.

I did want to leave early (and blame it on the lack of AC) but i stuck it out and am glad I did. There were times where i looked around at the old lady to my right and then over to the teacher and thought-- where do these people get their energy!! And how can sooo many people be free to attend the 9:30am zumba class. I know why I'm here.. I'm unemployed... but could it be where all those other ladies were too?

Anyways- I overhead a lady say that we burned around 480 calories.  After class, snarfed down a banana and granola bar (prob equaling what i just burned) and then walked myself back home.

Had a fresh mango and now feeling better. Gonna go shower and hopefully meet G at the old gym to sign up to swim together.  (Goal is to work out 2x a day where i can).

Tracking:
breakfast
egg white- 1
peach- 0
mango-0
granola-2

lunch
3 pieces of chicken (about 5 oz total)- 6 pts
babby carrots- 0
1 and half corn on cobb- 4
a handful of dark chocolate chops and almonds (what?! my fiance is obsessed with chocolate and ive learned to love it through him! HA). Will try to ween off this. 3pts

Side note: Have to make call to DJ recommendation my dad found tomorrow, i emailed a different photographer to inquire about prices, even though i like the one i know.  Just to see. To do: go to michaels to investigate things I can make for seat aisle ends and how to make my veil. Getting addresses of invitees to send out the save the date cards (postcards) that i designed. Cant wait for all to see them! Should arrive in 14 days or less and then i can address them

I'm getting married!!! Diet begins!

Officially have 327 days until my wedding! WOW! April 20, 2013.

The venue is already decided on, menu (almost) finalized and have a photographer in mind! I signed up for theknot.com (a must, I've been told) and have bought all bridal magazines in site. I have somewhat become obsessed with Pinterest Wedding Planning board that I've created. And, I've already designed our Save-the-Dates cards.

So now... the hard part. Weight loss. I thought as soon as I got engaged I'd kick myself into workout gear, but that didn't really happen. It wasn't until today when i figured out the venue and therefore the date, that I realized I have a deadline. I've tried Weight watchers and GNC meal replacement drinks.. and about almost all diets that exist. But I decided the game is on. I am no longer going to go to the "cult" meetings for WW, but I do know there is a huge value for tracking. So today I started (again) tracking!
I have 30 points to use in a day and I am determined to track each day.

My current goals are:
1) track every day
2) go to gym in the morning with Guillermo goes to class
3) swim with G in the afternoons
4) by end of month, reward self with pinkberry for tracking/exercise consistently.

I created this blog to keep track not only of my food, but also the mental challenges and ups/downs that I'll be going through... which I'm sure all Brides to Be go through as well. This is my journey to walk down the aisle.
